About this app

Defang is an Android launcher with an anti-dark-pattern friction layer. It is a speed bump, not a wall: you can still open Instagram, you can still override the timer. Nothing here is impossible to bypass — that is deliberate. A wall breeds circumvention; a speed bump breeds pause.

    Fixes Snapchat opening with no intent gate again. Snapchat had quietly stopped appearing in the standard Android API Defang used to detect it in the background — the second detection method it's evaded, after doing the same to accessibility events a few weeks ago. It now also reads the phone's on-screen window list directly, a channel Snapchat can't opt out of without breaking its own display.

Pause adds a short, timed pause before you open the apps you choose. When you launch a selected app, the screen is covered by a panel with a countdown. Only after it finishes can you choose Open anyway or Cancel. It turns an automatic tap into a deliberate choice. It is friction, not a hard block.
